Happy 95th Birthday and Happy Hanukkah!

Last Saturday we celebrated Grandma Fannie's (aka Great-Great) 95th birthday. All of Grandma Fannie's children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren were present for her milestone party. It also fell during Hanukkah, so we sang songs and ate latkes and Hanukkah cookies. There was no big dreidel game, but Rory enjoyed eating them.

Welcome Taylor Miranda Spano

Our niece, Taylor Miranda Spano, was born today at 1:16 pm. She is 6 lbs 9 oz and 19 in. We are so excited for Julie, Gary, and Darren.
It is nice to have a little girl in the family. I wonder if she will be spoiled?

As I tried to cover my flash, I got this nice pink hue. Appropriate, eh?

Congratulations Anusila and Donald!

Last night Rory had an overnight at Grandma and Papa's while we went to the wedding of our friends, Anusila and Donald.

Happy Thanksgiving

We hope everyone had a delicious and restful Thanksgiving.
A couple of nights before Turkey Day our little turkey couldn't finish his last snack before falling asleep in his high chair. How cute is that?

I think I'll go for a walk outside now...

Rory has been walking consistently for a few weeks now. Here is a video of him showing off his skills.

Beautiful November days

We have had a number of beautiful weekends in Atlanta. Last Sunday we went to the zoo. Rory especially enjoyed the elephants, pandas, and petting zoo.
Yesterday we were at our friend, Dirk's, house. Rory loved running in his yard (and splashing in his fountain!).

Maybe I can jump in!

I just saw a pretty girl!

Happy Halloween

Rory had a roarin' good time as a lion on Halloween. He saw lots of friends and was a real trooper getting in and out of the car (while in costume)!

Happy Halloween- Day-Care

Rory had lots of fun at the day-care Halloween party. We didn't know if he would fit in his seat with his costume, but they squished him in. He ate lots of treats and played with his friends.

Weekend Festivals

This past weekend Rory took in some of the local culture.

On Saturday we went up to Ellijay for the Apple Festival. It was pretty cold and damp out, but we had fun.

Here's Rory all bundled up on the hay rack ride from the parking lot to the fairgrounds.

Rory couldn't pose in this picture because he is enjoying some of the baked apple goods with Mommy
On Sunday we went to Stone Mountain for the Pumpkin Festival. It was sunny and much warmer, so the day was significantly more pleasant.
Happy Rory!

Sharing Spaghetti

Sometimes Rory doesn't want us to feed him, so we let him feed himself. Here's what happens when Rory feeds himself spaghetti.

Go Iowa!

Rory's Grandpa Jim would be thrilled with the current Iowa football season. Iowa has probably already qualified for a Bowl Game since everyone with 6ish wins gets a bowl bid (which is ridiculous, but that's another blog entry). In honor of being undefeated, enjoy a couple of pictures of our little Hawkeye.

Happy Birthday to Rory

Rory might want to hire better singers for next year's celebration. It rivals past birthday celebrations with Rory's Grandpa Jim and Great-Uncle Don. For those of you that missed birthdays with Jim and Don, you really missed out on something special!

Rory's birthday weekend

Rory had a fun birthday weekend. Unfortunately his cousins from Tennessee were diagnosed with H1N1, so they couldn't come celebrate. But, he had lots of fun with Mommy, Daddy, Nana, Grandma, Papa, Cousin Darren, Aunt Julie, Uncle Gary, Great-Great, and Cousin Linda. He is one loved boy. We went to the Family Block Party at Mercer during the day of his party and then had a cookout that night at our house. Enjoy the pictures of the celebration (thanks to Papa for some of them!).
