Weekend Festivals

This past weekend Rory took in some of the local culture.

On Saturday we went up to Ellijay for the Apple Festival. It was pretty cold and damp out, but we had fun.

Here's Rory all bundled up on the hay rack ride from the parking lot to the fairgrounds.

Rory couldn't pose in this picture because he is enjoying some of the baked apple goods with Mommy
On Sunday we went to Stone Mountain for the Pumpkin Festival. It was sunny and much warmer, so the day was significantly more pleasant.
Happy Rory!

Sharing Spaghetti

Sometimes Rory doesn't want us to feed him, so we let him feed himself. Here's what happens when Rory feeds himself spaghetti.

Go Iowa!

Rory's Grandpa Jim would be thrilled with the current Iowa football season. Iowa has probably already qualified for a Bowl Game since everyone with 6ish wins gets a bowl bid (which is ridiculous, but that's another blog entry). In honor of being undefeated, enjoy a couple of pictures of our little Hawkeye.

Happy Birthday to Rory

Rory might want to hire better singers for next year's celebration. It rivals past birthday celebrations with Rory's Grandpa Jim and Great-Uncle Don. For those of you that missed birthdays with Jim and Don, you really missed out on something special!

Rory's birthday weekend

Rory had a fun birthday weekend. Unfortunately his cousins from Tennessee were diagnosed with H1N1, so they couldn't come celebrate. But, he had lots of fun with Mommy, Daddy, Nana, Grandma, Papa, Cousin Darren, Aunt Julie, Uncle Gary, Great-Great, and Cousin Linda. He is one loved boy. We went to the Family Block Party at Mercer during the day of his party and then had a cookout that night at our house. Enjoy the pictures of the celebration (thanks to Papa for some of them!).

Day-care birthday video

Birthday Party at Day-Care

Rory celebrated his actual birthday with a party during snack time at day-care. Both of his grandmothers and his mommy joined the festivities. The cake was a big hit with all the kids. Most everyone needed to be hosed off afterwards.

Rory, like most of his friends, chased the Elmo cake with graham crackers!

Rory was tuckered out afterwards!

First Haircut

Our cord to transfer pictures was broken, so here are some pictures from Rory's first haircut. We took him to Snip-Its for the occasion. He did really well- until the clippers came out.

Happy Birthday!

Today is Rory's 1st birthday- where did the time go? He's going to celebrate his big day with cake at day-care today and a big party with his family on Saturday. Rory will love having his 3 Cousins, Grandparents, Aunts, Uncles, and Great-Great among the revelers. We will post pictures of the festivities soon.

Saying Good-bye

A year ago today we found out little Drew Aaron passed away. We remember our little angel every day. Since then, we've said good-bye to a number of friends and family- each of whom made an impact in our lives.

In memory of Carmen Rodriguez, Jeanne Calle, Ron Wedo, Miranda 'Randy' Spano, Janet Foster, Maude Carrothers, and Richard 'Doc' Kieft.
